Home (Ode)
Sweet smell fills the air inside
Wondering are my sleeping toys
There barks my long missed dog
welcoming with a warm lick on my cheek
I stumble to my room in seconds
changing into my long missed pajamas
and striving to the kitchen,
smelling the boiling soup that touches my nose
The warmth of hugs from my parents and siblings
The cuddling love with the familiar scents
that I lock into my memory
knowing every minute and second is precious.
Grandfather (Elegy)
Holding away our last tears,
Grabbing onto the pain that aches through our heart
Did anyone know time would fly so fast
Looking at the still, pale figure that lies restlessly below
May we lock you in our memories
treasure you in our broken, yet recovering hearts
Save you in our two wondering eyes
Remember you as our role model
Although he is far up above,
he watches us and looks down,
far beneath the floating clouds
Treasuring each and one of us
Just like we treasure him inside us,
knowing this is not the end.
